Over the years, the ways of imparting knowledge have changed, often obliterating certain methods to give way to new ones. Technology has played a vital role in bringing about some of the most gargantuan changes in the world of academia in the last ten years.
Out of the many changes that have contributed to the evolution of education, here are 6 of them:
1.Paperbacks vs eBooks Tech evolution has not only redefined the ways we teach but has also made education cheaper. Buying syllabus textbooks meant spending hundreds of dollars. Now, eBooks have solved that problem entirely, with books being available at a fourth of the price of a paperback. Plus, eBooks mean a lighter backpack too.
2. Do NOT put your mobile away A few years back, most of us have been victim to the confiscation of mobile phones. But today the picture is a lot different. Pupils are now allowed to bring mobile phones in school due to the permeation of mobile tech into our lives. Mobile phones are now being used to pass on notes, connect via social media apps like WhatsApp, etc.
3.Moving from offline to online At the end of the last decade, we have seen online courses taking over physical classes. Now, students can sign up for distance education programs and get through their dream colleges without changing countries. Most importantly, students can sign up for Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) to learn remotely by watching videos and reading course content for free. Many colleges have also moved their libraries online. Students can now use their library subscription to the assignment help, explore a subject further and find inspiration for their work.
